Pivot is may be the only specific role in Futsal, all the other players have more universal features. Pivot in futsal can be considered as the striker in football.  The pivot is used in all futsal formations except for the 4-0 system; is the vertical reference of the team in attack, often is alone in the middle of opponents defense and most of the time is used to play positioned back to opponent's goal.  His skills must be not only to score but also to protect the ball, to help the team to exit from pressing or to open a close defense.

Considering these points, the pivot must heve the following features

- GOOD PHYSICAL STRUCTURE

- FAKES AND TIMING OF DESMARKING

- ABILITY TO KEEP AND PROTECT THE BALL

- ABILITY TO TURN ON BOTH SIDES

- GOOD FINALIZATION

- UNDERSTAND WHEN AND WHERE A PASS LINE WILL BE OPENED

- USE BOTH FOOT

- INTELLIGENCE IN SUPPORTING  (UNDERSTAND AND PERCEIVE IMPORTANCE OF 3RD MAN)

- MOVILITY FOR BACK DOOR MOVEMENT
