FUTSAL PLAYER DEVELOPMENT PATHWAY: GOLDEN RULES PT.2

Here's the second part of the Golden Rules. the offensive ones.

These are the basic rules for development of a player who can be technically and tactically successfull in attack

1. The body orientation: the key one to have a clear vision for better decision making and always be ready to threat

2. The directionbal control: the second pillar. fundamental to keep ball possession under pressure

3. Engage the defender: the futsal player always need to threat and go to play near opponent. this concept is linked to 3 different situations

          - in transition: engage the defender to eliminate on the pass

          - in positional attack, engage defender, and after pass gein the back of the defender (concept of proximity) to obligate the defender to loose one paramenter (ball or opponent.

          - ala when receive without pressure, has to drive the ball and emngage defender, pushing the dence backward and go closer to finishing zone

4. Support: signal of ala stopping ball in side. asking for support between lines or below ball line

5 - 6. Ball pressed/not pressed: a more difficult concept but very important to explain from 10 years old. attackers without ball should have clear how to move when ball is going to be pressed and when not

7. Feint/Hide intentions: futsal is a sport which can be defined as almost no time to think and almost no space to play; so in every situation attackers have to gain time and space. How feinting before rteceive the ball or after pass; and hide intentions, try to condition the answer of the defence, being in advance on timeline of game....writing the game.

8. Widht: extremely important to attack close defence

9. Laterality: use both feet. to keep good body orientation but also to reduce number of movements in ball possession. As example: ball coming from left and going to right, control with intrerior of right foot and pass with left foot. two movements only, without orientating the body. Excellent economy of movement which allows receiver to have enough time and space to unfold following play. Same concept can be extended to ala which wants to connect with pivot along the line; if economy of movements is incorrect....the defender will close the pass line.
